NwOESC has a staff of  approximately 300 employees along with a large number of afterschool program and substitute employees. There are a variety of potential career opportunity areas with our service organization. We welcome your application for employment consideration with our organization for specific vacancies. As you complete an application, please complete the entire application and provide accurate information. The information you provide is your opportunity to introduce yourself to our organization and present your educational and professional qualifications for the position you are seeking.

When vacancies are posted, applications are screened and candidates are selected for an interview based on their skills and qualifications as presented on the application.  If you are looking for a teaching position or paraprofessional position you may want to consider applying as a substitute until you find a regular position.  Application for employment will not automatically place you on the substitute list nor will a substitute application automatically place you in an interview for hire list.

POSITION: Preschool Itinerant Intervention Specialist 
 
DESCRIPTION: Full or Part-time position available as a preschool teacher in the NwOESC preschool programs. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:  Hold an Ohio Department of Education Early Childhood Intervention Specialist PK-grade 3; or be willing to obtain a supplemental license in this area. LOCATION:  NwOESC preschool programs in Williams, H
enry, Fulton, or Defiance County
 
CONTRACT: Per school calendar
 
SALARY: Per the adopted salary placement schedule based on training and experience
 
BENEFITS: Paid sick leave and personal leave. Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance are available if working over 25 hours per week. Membership in State Teachers Retirement System.

POSITION: Part-time Paraprofessional Napoleon: Monday and Friday, 6:45-8:45 AM and Monday through Friday 2:00 – 4:15 PM

QUALIFICATIONS:
-High school diploma or equivalent.
-FBI and BCI background checks required.
-Hold or be qualified to obtain an Educational Aide Permit.
-Associate’s Degree or equivalent or passing score on the Parapro Assessment for highly qualified status.
-Ability to learn skills appropriate for the position.
-Demonstrated maturity and the ability to work with students with special needs
-Ability to travel to assignment.

DESCRIPTION: The paraprofessional will accompany and supervise students with special needs on bus routes to and from school. Along with the bus driver, provide a safe environment. Physically assist students as needed.

POSITION: Long-Term Intervention Specialist Substitute

QUALIFICATIONS: A valid intervention specialist teaching license or long term Ohio substitute teaching (intervention specialist) license required.

DESCRIPTION: Long-term substitute as an Intervention Specialist starting now until the end of the 17/18 school year. This is a full-time position working with elementary school age students.

LOCATION: Independence Education Center in Defiance, Ohio

SALARY: Per the current adopted substitute rate

PART-TIME POSITION: Home Instructor/ Intervention Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS: Hold Ohio Department of Education Intervention Specialist licensure.

DESCRIPTION: Plan and implement lessons that facilitate student progress toward achieving IEP goals. Complete progress reports and update IEPs as needed. Work in a one-on-one setting with a student in the home or other chosen location. Vary instructional techniques to address individual student needs. Communicate high expectations for students and show an active interest in their progress.

LOCATION: Itinerant; Fulton and Williams counties

CONTRACT: Per school calendar

SALARY: Per the adopted salary schedule based on training and experience

BENEFITS: Paid sick leave and personal leave. Membership in State Teachers Retirement System.

POSITION: School Psychologist either Full or Part-Time; working with preschool and/or K-12; starting August 2018 (for the 2018/19 school year)

QUALIFICATIONS: Hold a valid Ohio School Psychologist License

DESCRIPTION:

  • Must have knowledge of various testing protocols

  • Complete evaluation process in compliance with ODE Special Education Operating Standards

  • Participate in building RTI and student assistance teams

  • Meet with parents as needed

  • Preschool: work as part of a play-based assessment team

  • Other duties pertaining to evaluations and/or counseling as requested by supervisor

 

LOCATION: Defiance, Fulton, Williams, and/or Henry Counties

MULTIPLE POSITIONS:  Paraprofessionals

  • Perform a variety of educational and support services to help achieve productive learning experiences.
  • Provide guidance and encouragement to help students pursue their intellectual, social, and emotional potentials.
  • Promote the inclusion of students with disabilities into regular classroom and school activities.

LOCATION: Four County, IEC, Wauseon

SALARY:  Per the adopted salary schedule based on training and experience

BENEFITS:  Paid sick leave and personal leave.  Health, dental, vision and life insurance are available if working over 25 hours/week.  Membership in SERS retirement system.
