Andrew Hunter

Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Development

Andy Hunter graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2007 and began teaching history and coaching basketball at Tinora High School. After nine years teaching, he graduated with his Masters degree from BGSU and took a job as an assistant principal at Hicksville Schools. After one year, he became the Middle School principal where he served until joining the Northwest Ohio ESC Consultant Team. When not working, Andy spends time with his wife, Ashley, and their four children, Maddox, Lennyx, Bexley and Teddie. Andy is an avid sports fan spending his time rooting for the Michigan Wolverines, Detroit Tigers, and Detroit Lions.

Mike Altman

Math Education/ Gifted/ General Education Consultant

Districts Served: Edon, North Central

Mike Altman started his career at Hicksville Schools in 2010. While there, he had many roles. He taught Junior High Science for two years, Mathematics for eight years, and was the Middle School Principal for his last two years. Mike integrated new teaching practices and technology into his classroom, using data to support his decisions. Throughout his eight years as a math teacher, 92.6% of his students scored proficient or above on the state test. Because of this, many schools and colleagues observed him as a math teacher to try to improve mathematics instruction geared towards the development of conceptual understanding. These past 12 years of experience have instilled in Mike a passion for mathematics.

Heidi Bell

Director of Student Services at Northeastern Local Schools

Districts Served: Northeastern

Heidi Bell is a graduate of The Ohio State University. She began her career in education as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the Northwest Ohio ESC, working in the Northeastern Local School district for 11 years. Heidi began taking classes towards her Master’s in administration in 2021 through Concordia University. Heidi is excited to transition from an SLP to Director of Student Services, remaining with NwOESC and Northeastern Local. When not working, Heidi enjoys spending time with her husband, John, and three children, Alek, Coehen, and Sylas.

Kristine Brickner

General & Gifted Education Consultant

Districts Served: Delta, Hilltop

Kristine Brickner is a passionate educator and instructional leader with 16 years of experience in the elementary classroom and a strong commitment to supporting both students and teachers in meaningful growth. She earned her degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Mathematics from Saint Mary’s College at Notre Dame, where she also participated in the Notre Dame marching band. During her undergraduate studies, she was recognized with the Indiana Outstanding Future Educator Award (Spring 2008), presented by the Indiana Association for Colleges of Teacher Education (IACTE). She later completed her Master’s Degree in Reading and Literacy from Marygrove College. Throughout her career, she has taught in Bowling Green City Schools and Ayersville Local Schools, where she was honored with the CORAS Outstanding Elementary School Teacher Award (2025–2026). A collaborative leader at heart, Kristine has served as a mentor teacher for aspiring educators and actively contributes to building-based teams, including PBIS. She works alongside colleagues to shape strong curriculum practices and believes deeply in leading through partnership. Her leadership style is grounded in collaboration, reflection, and shared growth. In her own classroom practice, Kristine designs individualized interventions based on student needs and learning profiles. She has developed a standards-based small group learning system aligned with district curriculum to address learning gaps and ensure all students have access to essential skills. Her approach is student-centered, data-driven, and deeply relationship-focused, with a belief that the strongest ideas emerge through collaboration and shared expertise. Outside of her professional work, Kristine enjoys supporting her children in their activities, including soccer, cross country, track, dance, and karate.

Krissy Cheslock

Gifted & General Education Consultant

Districts Served: Hicksville, Paulding. Tinora

Krissy Cheslock graduated from The University of Findlay in 2004 and began her career as an Intervention Specialist in 2004 at Patrick Henry High School. In 2012 she earned her Masters in Administration and Supervisor and obtained her Special Education Director position in 2014. She has served as the Special Education Supervisor at Four County Career Career Center from January 2015 until 2026. Krissy's passion for Career Technical Education and Specialist Education allowed her to serve in leadership roles in Ohio ACTE and present at many state level conferences. Her experience has allowed her to work with educators from PK- 12 in a variety of roles to support instructional learning and create challenging opportunities in our area. Krissy prides herself on meeting individuals where they are at and developing opportunities to support growth right alongside them, often with an refreshing (and often hilarious) approach. Outside of work, Krissy enjoys reading, making cupcakes, and being active in her church.

Michelle Leatherman

Gifted & General Education Consultant

Districts Served: Delta, Montpelier

Michelle Leatherman graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1999 and began her career as an ELA teacher for Wauseon Schools. In 2008 she earned her Master of Education in School Counseling and a few years later, she transitioned from a teacher to a school counselor in the Wauseon district, serving multiple school buildings. After earning her Education Specialist degree from BGSU in 2015, she became the Director of Instructional Services at Wauseon Schools and continued in that position until 2025. Michelle is excited to use her 25 years of experience in education as an Education Consultant for the NwOESC. Outside of work, Michelle enjoys reading, watching sports of any kind and spending time with her husband, Keith and children, Jack and Marin.

Kelly Pool

Gifted & General Education Consultant

Districts Served: 4CCC, Fayette

Kelly Pool discovered her passion for education unexpectedly when she began coaching at Northwood High School after cheering collegiately at BGSU. She originally planned a career in marketing and public relations, but coaching inspired her to immediately pursue a Master’s in Business Education and shift fully into teaching.What began as a supplemental hire, grew into a distinguished leadership path, including Teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Director of Student Services.

Driven by a passion for career and technical education, Kelly also served at Penta Career Center and later returned to a member school classroom to launch a new career-technical program, designing the curriculum from the ground up. Her experience across both administrative and classroom roles gives her a strong understanding of today’s students, emerging trends, and evolving technologies.

Kelly is energized by supporting staff and students in the districts she serves and advancing student-centered initiatives across the educational spectrum. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her husband, children, and three German Shepherds. A dedicated distance runner, she recently completed her third 100-mile race.

Jenna Storrer

Gifted & General Education Consultant

Districts Served: Holgate, Fairview, Elmwood

Jenna Storrer’s career in education has been defined by being a lifelong learner, relationship builder, and skilled facilitator. After graduating from Bluffton University in 2008, she started her career as a high school English teacher at Pike-Delta-York High School. Jenna then completed a Master’s Degree in Instructional Leadership in 2012 and also had the privilege of teaching at Napoleon Area Schools (2011-2016) and her alma mater, Wauseon Exempted Village Schools (2016-2022). During her teaching tenure, Jenna served as a leader and facilitator on various building leadership and district initiative teams, including the PBIS committee. These leadership experiences unexpectedly launched her into EdTech, and she worked for 7 Mindsets as an Education Services Manager and then BetterLesson as a Senior Engagement Manager, facilitating professional learning and leading curriculum and program implementation support for both small and large districts across the nation. Jenna is thrilled to be part of the team at Northwest Ohio ESC and to serve local districts again with a focus on driving positive outcomes for all students.
